STEPS TO UNDERTAKE THE FINAL SEMESTER MCA / MSc PROJECT

  • Students have to contact the guide (Given in the guide list) through email or phone and discuss about the proposed project work. After getting the oral concurrence from the guide, the students have to go for Online Registration
  • The student must go to Student Login → Guide Selection and Online Registration.
  • After choosing the guide, the student must key in the project details and submit. A detailed email with the project details will be sent to the guide for acceptance.
  • After registering the project proposal, the student must keep in touch with the Guide and request them to verify and accept the proposal online. The Guide can give his/her comments through online.
  • Guide’s acceptance will be communicated to the students through automated e-mail.

  • ACCEPTED Guide has accepted the proposal and students will receive an email of the accepted project proposal in pdf format. The student should download and take printout (one copie – Project Proposal) of the same and submit them to the study centre duly signed by the guide
  • ACCEPTED AFTER REVISION ONLY Students should have to carry out the corrections suggested by the Guide and re-register the project proposal online. Continue the process to get ACCEPTED.
  • REJECTED Project proposal was not accepted. Please contact the guide.

After you complete the above steps, your project proposal would be reviewed by the Central Steering Committee (CSC) in the CDE and the status will be published in the CDE website. The status of your project may be any one of the codes as given below
  • STATUS 1 : Project Proposal is approved
    The student can proceed with the project in consultation with the guide.
  • STATUS 2 : Project Proposal is approved. However the scope of the project needs to be modified
    Consult your guide and make improvements and reregister within 10 days
  • STATUS 3 : Project proposal is not approved
    Consult your guide and modify the topic.Reregister the new project proposal within 10 day

  • Prepare and submit the first review report in the required format (Please see first review format). Attend the first review at the study center (Please contact the study center regarding the review dates).
  • The evaluation of project work will be done by the Project Monitoring Committee (PMC) at the study center for a - e for 70%, during the first review.
    • Problem Definition: 10 (PMC)
    • Literature Review: 15 (PMC)
    • Novel Idea: 5 (PMC)
    • Detailed design: 10 (PMC)
    • Methodology: 30 (PMC)
    • Guide Marks: 30
  • Incorporate the feedback given by the PMC during the first review and proceed with your project work in consultation with the guide

  • Prepare and submit the second review report in the required format (Please see II review format). Attend the second review at the study center (Please contact the study center regarding the review dates).
  • The evaluation of project work will be done by the Project Monitoring Committee (PMC) at the study center for a - e for 70%, during the second review.
    • System Design: 10 (PMC)
    • Modules Completed: 30 (PMC)
    • Data Set: 15 (PMC)
    • Pseudo code: 5 (PMC)
    • Contribution: 10 (PMC)
    • Guide Marks: 30
  • Incorporate the feedback given by the PMC during the second review and proceed with your project work in consultation with the guide

Submit the required number of copies of the final project report at the study center. And also submit a soft copy to CDE through online. (Refer to the guideline on final report preparation / submission in the CDE website)

Attend the final Viva-Voce examination at the study center (Please contact the studycenter regarding the viva-voce dates).
The total marks for the project work is 200 for R2018 (2 years). The breakup is as follows
Weightage for first review 20 Marks
Weightage for second review 20 Marks
Evaluation of final report by external examiner 60 Marks
Viva –Voce evaluation by internal and external examiner 100 Marks
